The classic Shut the Box is called missionary and usually follows the rules I just described. Three Down Extreme takes numbers 1 through 3 out of the game and plays with the remaining numbers. Lucky Number Seven only leaves the number 7 for game play. Even Stevens only plays with even numbers. These are just a few of the variations of the game.
