Over the years Sure Start Speke has developed an excellent record in relation to grass roots work within the community at both local and citywide levels.

We have achieved this by utilising both formal and informal mechanisms linking with not just the Sure Start client group, but the broader community of Speke; both residents and people working in the area.

All our work is evaluated internally and we have also taken part in a number of external evaluations and recently developed a toolkit that will allow us to assess areas of our work and the work of partners who contribute to the centre.

The whole programme has been traditionally rooted in community development approaches to our service delivery and we have aspired to base this on the ABCD (achieving better community development) principles.

Clearly we are extremely focused on the achievement of better outcomes for children and that can only be achieved within the context of community.
